Group Project:
As a participate, you will receive a Star Spangled Shield Mini Quilt Pattern and a fabric kit to complete your Wall Hanging project. Nicole will demonstrate how to make the foundation paper pieced stars and give tips on construction and assembly throughout the weekend. You can either make this project or work on one of your own projects.
Meals:
Thursday: Dinner will be served
Friday: Breakfast & Dinner will be served - Lunch is on your own.
Saturday: Breakfast & Lunch will be served - Dinner is on your own.
Sunday: Breakfast will be served
Cottage accommodations:
The Quilter’s Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Each quilter will have their own twin bed. All linens, blankets and bathroom essentials are included. There is a full kitchen at our disposal, plus a living room with couches. The dining area is perfect for our small group as well. The exterior of the house has a covered porch and lovely surrounding area, which makes for a peaceful evening on the porch. The sewing room has tables, an ironing station and cutting station. There is plenty of natural light, but it it recommended to bring a task lamp for evening or early morning sewing. The cottage has stairs to get into the house and stairs to reach the bedrooms.
What to Bring:
If you have never been to a retreat before, I have a list that I used to pack my supplies to be ready for anything. The nice thing about this location is that we are just down the road to a fully stocked fabric shop and can grab whatever we need or may have forgotten. I have linked the common items that I bring to a quilt retreat below.
RETREAT CHECKLIST
Prizes, Games & Show N Tell
The retreat will host a prize table with lots of goodies. We will have random drawings for a chance to win.
We will have a Show N Tell on Friday evening (before dinner). Please bring a recent finished quilt or project that you would like to share with the group.
We will play a game on Saturday evening, after dinner. The game is called Left, Right, Center. The theme of this game will be Christmas. Please bring 3 Christmas themed fat quarters to play. You can also purchase Fat Quarters at the shop down the road.
Retreat packages are non-refundable, but are transferrable. This is a women only event. Sorry, no male spouses.
